Buffs & Debuffs

This piece of content recently got an update. We are in the process of catching up to the game. Please feel free to help us by updating this information.

Buffs and Debuffs are one of the core gameplay mechanics. The player can obtain them from amulets, quest givers, items, ability tokens, codes, and different dispensers. Some buffs and debuffs are exclusive to one source, such as the Splinter Trap can only be obtained from the Stick Bug Challenge, while others can be obtained in different ways, such as blue boosts can be obtained from the Blueberry Dispenser, bees, and flowers.

All status effects can be found in the top margin of the screen, above the main menu. The effects are sorted from left to right, with newer effects appearing on the right. Hovering over the icon for a buff/debuff will give information on the stack amount, effect, and duration (if possible). On certain devices, icons for accessories can also be found here instead of next to the hotbar.

From Jelly Beans

Buffs that can be obtained from using Jelly Beans or produced by Bean Bugs on a field. The buff's variant depends on the type of jelly bean. To get the buffs, a player must collect jelly bean tokens or let other players collect jelly bean tokens from them.

Trivia

• The icon for the Frozen debuff is the asset of Ice Cube, a character from the animated web series Battle for Dream Island.
• The 3YearParty code (now expired) used to reward unlimited gumdrops for an hour, but there was a glitch where if the player left and rejoined the game, the buff would disappear. Onett later removed the buff from the code.
• The shortest buff is Coconut Haste Surge (2 seconds) while the longest is the Honeyday event, Launch Code Boost, and Galentine's Blessing (48 hours each).
• Speaking to Onett during Beesmas would give the player the Honeyday Event buff, even without claiming the hive (if it hadn't been claimed yet).
• The Splinter Trap icon is the same as the Haste+ icon, which is ironic since they have the opposite effect.
• Receiving more stacks of Robo Bear Challenge is less detrimental. For example, in round 2, the debuff is x0.12 capacity, which is better than x0.1 in round 1.
