The Dark Scythe is a tool that can be crafted in the Red HQ. The player needs to have completed at least 250 Gifted Riley Bee quests to unlock it.

It collects 13 pollen from 35 patches in 0.5 seconds. It has an average base pollen collection rate of 910 pollen per second.

If a flame gets hit by the Dark Scythe's collection, it will turn it into a Dark Flame and flame fuel (if active) is reapplied, as well as its lifespan being reset.

A Dark Flame grants a stack of Dark Heat, which grants +10% Instant Red Ability Conversion and x1.05 Super-Crit Power, with each additional Dark Flame granting an extra x0.05 Super-Crit Power to the stack and +1% Instant Red Ability Conversion, capping at x6 Super-Crit Power and 109% Instant Red Ability Conversion. An active Dark Flame always gives the player a stack of dark heat whether they are touching the flame or not.

Touching a Dark Flame grants 33% more growth to Scorching Stars than normal flames. Dark Flames also deal 50% more damage than regular flames.

Trivia

• The Dark Scythe's blue counterpart is the Tide Popper, and its white counterpart is the Gummyballer.
• The Dark Scythe's scooping trail can pop bubbles.
• If the player's backpack is full and scooped their Dark Scythe while in a field, it will prompt the full backpack message three times.
• This is the only red collector that doesn't multiply the amount of red pollen collected. This is the same case as Tide Popper.
• This is tied with the Tide Popper for being the fifth most expensive item in the game, both having a cost of 2.5T Honey. In front of the Dark Scythe and Tide Popper is the Petal Planter, costing 5T Honey, Coconut Belt costing 7.5T Honey, the Gummyballer, costing 10T Honey, and The Planter Of Plenty, costing 100T Honey.

• On December 28, 2021, there was an exploit that could have been used to obtain the Dark Scythe, as well as Tide Popper and Gummyballer for free. This was later patched by Onett, and everybody who used the exploit got a full reset on their account.
• There was a glitch allowing players to buy the Dark Scythe without completing 250 Gifted Riley Bee quests. If the Dark Scythe was bought without doing 250 Gifted Riley Bee quests, the player could only equip the item after doing 250 Gifted Riley Bee quests.
  • This was also the case with the Tide Popper.
• The Dark Scythe, alongside the Tide Popper and Gummyballer are the only items without an in-game description which details stats.
• The Dark Scythe, as well as any other item that costed more than 1 billion Honey, used to display the honey cost as the full number, rather than shortening it.
