Flame

Not to be confused with the flame trail produced by Fire Ants.

Flames are objects that can be produced by certain tools, ability tokens, or passive abilities. Flames have a percentage chance to be spawned by certain bees when gathering, lasting for 4 seconds. Each second, the flames collect 4 red, 2 white, or 1 blue pollen from 9 surrounding flowers (+2% per red bee and +4% per gifted red bee if spawned by the player, +10% per bee level if spawned by a bee), deals 10 + (25% of base Bee Attack) damage per second to any mob (15 if spawned by the player), and grants the player flame heat.

Flames can be generated by the Scythe, Fire Bee, Demon Bee, Spicy Bee's Inferno, bees with the Bead Lizard or Electric Candle beequips, Fire Mask's Ignite passive, and Demon Mask's X-Flame passive.

Flames are used to help grow Scorching Stars.

Flame Heat

Flame Heat grants extra Red Pollen and Bee Attack starting at x1.2 Red Pollen and +5% Bee Attack Multiplier. The more flames around the player, the faster the Flame Heat grows up to a maximum of 20 seconds at x2 Red Pollen and +25% Bee Attack Multiplier. Flame Heat boosts Spicy Bee's Movespeed and gather speed and can also be consumed by Precise Bee to convert Pollen into Honey.

Gathering Flames

The Gathering Flames passive gives a chance for a bee to spawn a flame while gathering pollen from a field. Gathering Flames+ gives a higher chance for a bee to spawn a flame.

There is a 35% chance (50% if gifted) for Fire Bees' Gathering Flames passive to spawn a flame while gathering, and a 65% (85% if gifted) chance for Demon Bees' Gathering Flames+ to spawn a flame while gathering.

The Gathering Flames passive chance can be increased with the Bead Lizard or Electric Candle beequip for individual bees.

• A Bead Lizard gives from +9% Gathering Flames chance to +14% Gathering Flames chance.
• An Electric Candle gives from +1% Gathering Flames chance to +5% Gathering Flames chance. Using waxes can increase the amount up to +25% Gathering Flames chance.

Dark Flames

Flames that are hit with Dark Scythe will be converted into dark flames, a dark violet version of normal flames which collects pollen from 13 surrounding flowers (instead of 9), deals 50% more damage, and grants dark heat and also normal flame heat. Dark flames also grant 33% more growth to Scorching Stars.

Flame Stats

There are multiple aspects of flames that can be improved by stats and modifiers.

Flame Pollen

Flame Pollen is the amount of pollen that flames can collect. The player can check how much flame pollen they have in the system page.

Flame Pollen can be increased in a few ways:

• The Demon Mask gives a x1.25 Flame Pollen multiplier.
• Gifted Fire Bee gives a x1.25 Flame Pollen multiplier.
• Beequips:
  • An Electric Candle gives from +5% Flame Pollen to +10% Flame Pollen for an individual bee. Using waxes can increase the amount up to 50% Flame Pollen.
  • An Electric Candle can give +1% Flame Pollen as a hive bonus. Using waxes can increase the amount up to 11% Flame Pollen.
• Cog Amulets:
  • The Silver Cog Amulet can give up to +5% Flame Pollen.
  • The Gold Cog Amulet can give up to +8% Flame Pollen.
  • The Diamond Cog Amulet can give from +12% Flame Pollen up to +14% Flame Pollen.
  • The Supreme Cog Amulet can give from +15% Flame Pollen up to +20% Flame Pollen.
• Stickers:
  • The Small Flame Bee Sticker gives +3% Flame Pollen.
  • The Dark Flame Sticker gives +3% Flame Pollen.
  • The Orange Swirled Marble Sticker gives +3% Flame Pollen.
• Robo Bear Challenge:
  • Epic Upgrades:
    • Furnace: This upgrade gives x1.5 Flame Pollen.

Flame Duration

Flame Duration is how long flames will last. Flame Duration can be increased by Spicy Bee's gifted bonus (25% more time) and Gifted Spicy Bee's Flame Fuel ability (50% more time). In addition, Flame Fuel causes the flames to instantly convert 50,000 pollen plus 10% (+5% per Field Boost) of the hive's total convert amount.

Instant Flame Conversion

Instant Flame Conversion is how much pollen collected by flames are instantly converted. It can be increased by a few ways.

• The Fire Mask gives +50% Instant Flame Conversion.
• The Demon Mask gives +50% Instant Flame Conversion.
• A Scorching Star gives +50% Instant Flame Conversion.

Other Improvements

Certain upgrades from the Robo Bear Challenge can be used to improve flames.

• Epic Upgrades:
  • Furnace: This upgrade gives x1.5 Flame Duration and x1.5 Flame Damage.
  • Invert: This upgrade makes flames collect x4 pollen from blue flowers.

Trivia

• The maximum Flame Pollen a player can have is 380%. This can be achieved by having the Demon Mask (x1.25), Gifted Fire Bee (x1.25), a Supreme Cog Amulet (+20%), three Electric Candles (+33%), activating the Sticker Stack with certain stickers (+9%), and the Furnace upgrade (x1.5).
  • The exact amount is 379.6875% but it rounds up to 380%.
• The maximum Instant Flame Conversion a player can have is 100%. This can be achieved by having the Fire Mask (+50%) or the Demon Mask (+50%) while having a Scorching Star (+50%).
• The texture for flames were changed in the 2021-12-26 update. This was probably to help with the texture for dark flames.
• Flames generated by another player's bees will appear dark red instead of yellow-orange.
• Flames are the counterpart of bubbles.
