The Zombie is one of the mobs exclusive in the Retro Swarm Challenge.
Behavior[]
Zombies go in one direction towards the hives. Unlike the Slime, Zombies prioritize chasing the first nearby player to get into its aggression zone and will keep chasing the player until it dies or if the player it is pursuing is out of range.

Tips[]
Zombies are essentially just Slimes but much easier to deal with. They can be easily led off track and effectively stopped for good if the round consists purely of Zombies. Much of the same tips for Zombies also apply for Slimes.
- The most important and useful tip is to realize how Zombies function. They move in a straight line but can be distracted by players if they approach close enough. This massively reduces the threat and power of Zombies.
- Zombies almost always spawn in hordes. It is advised to use crowd-controlling bees like Digital Bee and Vicious Bee, as Mind Hack and Impale can help out massively, especially in the later rounds where Zombies start increasing in level and health drastically.
- Remember that Zombies can damage you simply by coming into contact with you. If you are not careful and become too reckless, you can die somewhat easily to hordes.
- However, you should note that unlike Slimes, Zombies don't increase in size the higher level they are, meaning that dying to them is much less likely.
- Try upgrading from the normal sword to the Firebrand as soon as possible. There is an massive damage boost that comes with this, and you'll be able to kill low to mid-level Zombies with ease before they even get a chance to sufficiently damage you. The Illumina is an even bigger help, but it may start becoming irrelevant by the time you reach round 20 or 21.
- Swords as a whole start becoming futile by round 20/21 as the Zombies increase in health and spawn in larger numbers. By this point, it is advised that you buy bees that are preferably at the level that the Zombies are, which is most likely too much to handle for early and midgame players.
- You can use the Trowel to temporarily block Zombies from approaching the hives, but this isn't very useful unless you're also dealing with Slimes (this allows you to prioritize Slimes, which cannot be steered toward the player, unlike Zombies).
- Star Saw can easily target hordes of Zombies.
